Terang
The Thomson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Terang is one of our favourite places to spend time. It also serves as a case study in the breadth of services we can provide.
Challenge

The Terang Presbyterian Church opened its doors in 1894. Standing at 41.45m tall, it’s a stunning landmark visible throughout the Western Victorian town of Terang and surrounding countryside. The church features a clerestory nave, curved apse and stunning tower and spire which combine to make it one of the most impressive country churches in the state.
Background

The scale and location of the building make performing routine maintenance tasks difficult.
Yet, it’s this routine maintenance that is essential to staving off the need for major
interventions down the track. Place this in a context of constrained budgets and an ever
more demanding regulatory environment means delivering diligence and value for money.
Process
Using our own trailer-mounted elevating work platform, and by rolling due diligence reporting into every bout of maintenance, we ensure that compliance requirements are met, the fabric is cared for and future budget allocations can be planned. From gutter cleans, slate roof repairs and bird-proofing to lightning protection system inspections and masonry condition reporting, we provide a complete maintenance solution at minimal cost.
